By February 2022, The Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT) will have ruled on a wide range of issues from 2021 and the start of the new year. This annual Legal Update will analyze the narratives considered and decided on by the CRT in the preceding twelve months. The speakers will provide practical advice and insight on how strata managers can best assist council to level up their governance to avoid similar outcomes. The factual scenarios described and considered will include the use of proxies, the emanation of noxious odours, owner alterations, bylaw enforcement, rental hardship, owner access to strata records, and more.

Elaine T. McCormack, co-founder of Wilson McCormack Law Group, is an experienced barrister, solicitor, arbitrator and mediator. Her previous experience includes practicing as a general practitioner at a small law firm, being an entrepreneur running a boutique law firm, and as the head of the strata and dispute resolution departments at a large provincially based firm.
