Presenter:

Scott McGregor
Scott joined the B.C. Public Service, Residential Tenancy Branch (RTB) in September 2018 as the Director for the new Compliance and Enforcement Unit (CEU). Prior to joining the Public Service, Scott served a 28-year career with the Victoria Police Department, ending this chapter as an Inspector and Senior Manager. As the Director of CEU, Scott was responsible for hiring staff, developing investigative best practices, complaint processes, policy development and the administrative penalty processes. The CEU assists in assuring compliance with the tenancy laws of British Columbia by investigating repeated, or serious and deliberate contraventions or for failure to follow Orders or decisions of the Director. The CEU provides education and information sometimes in the form of verbal or written warnings, conducts early interventions and levies administrative monetary penalties when appropriate.
