Advanced Strata Management Certificate Course

This is an applied course for licensees who have less than three years’ experience and a refresher course for those who have been licensed longer.

Students will develop practical knowledge and skills for problem solving and acquire a deeper understanding of how to handle everyday challenges pertaining to statutory compliance, annual and special general meetings, council meetings, budget preparation, financial reserves, building maintenance, insurance claims, and time management.

This course is endorsed by PAMA and SPABC.

Participants will be expected to participate in a Zoom class from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, every Friday. In addition, there are required reading materials, discussion topics and video recordings that will take approximately 2 hours each week.

Instructor: Katharine Olson, FirstService Residential



Katharine Olson is an Associate Broker and Strata Manager Trainer at FirstService Residential, licensed since 2011 for both rental and strata property management. Born and raised in Vancouver, she completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of British Columbia in Sociology and Psychology. After 8+ years experience in the industry, managing various portfolios throughout BC – from Greater Vancouver to Squamish/Whistler to Williams Lake, she transitioned into training and development. A dedicated member of the PAMA Education Committee, Katharine has great passion for her chosen specialization of supporting and educating the next generation of licensees.

 

Schedule: Fridays, September 20 - November 22, 2024 (10 sessions)
Location: Zoom (the link will be emailed to students)

Cost:  PAMA members *$750 + GST
           Non-Members: $975.00 + GST

Cancellation Policy:

Withdrawing before your course starts:

All refunds are subject to an administration fee of 20% of the course/event fee. Cancellations must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class.

Please note: We would be pleased to hold a 100% credit of the registration fee toward taking another PAMA course/s. This credit is valid for 12 months.

Withdrawing after your course starts:

No refunds are issued except for extraordinary circumstances. In such case, a request must be submitted in writing by e-mail to the Interim General Manager: [email protected].
